Earth Day 40th Anniversary & Community Celebration
Come join in this historic 40th anniversary of the global EARTH DAY Community Celebration with the Central Rhode Island JAYCEES and its Kent County Junior Chamber & JAY-Teens!
Volunteers will assist the JAYCEES in Kent County, to host, coordinate and implement, the annual EARTH DAY activities under the auspices of Department of Environmental Management and the Rhode Island Earth Day Committee.
The JAYCEES and volunteers will carry out routine landscape chores such as raking and bagging leaves, picking-up scattered debris, shoveling mulch and preparing extensive cultivation beds for Spring plantings.
In addition to doing the usual and regular clean-up surveys for their award-winning JAYCEE Corridor & Arboretum, the JAYCEES and their diverse team of associates, also will support the area businesses and commercial entities along with many civic-minded volunteers to focus a direct effect upon the aesthetic appearance of Arctic Village District and locale.
Requirements: Volunteers should be prepared to contribute a couple of hours of general landscape-type tasks out in the fresh air, working with a small group of participants in cleaning-up and ensure proper preparation for greening-up the award-winning JAYCEE Corridor & Arboretum, which forms the portal entrance to the state Senator Donald E. Roch RIVERWALK and the West Bay/Washington Secondary Bikepath.
