GREETINGS and hope all is well as we navigate through this unexpected Wintry Storm!
The JAYCEES in Rhode Island are acutely aware of the need and necessity to acquire added funding through numerous mechanisms.
Tonight, one of our members mentioned from a regional communal gathering, that the VERIZON Corporation Foundation offers substantial grants-in-aide to its employees and retirees favorite charities and community groups that meet their criteria.
Our JAYCEE Chapter and JAYCEE Education & Library Foundation provides an extraordinary plethora of activities within a small, yet effective organization for so many goals and challenges throughout the program year.
It would be extremely beneficial to have a Verizon Employee[s] or Retiree(s), volunteer and then qualify for such grant assistance to further enhance our valuable and extensive JAYCEE programming.
Please contact our Rhode Island JAYCEE office and let our Executive Director realize that we have some kind of contact with Verizon to pursue these types of available funding sources.
Thank you very much for your kind consideration in JAYCEE Service!
Volunteering
Active U.S. Based Employees: New for 2009, please register your volunteer hours using our new online Volunteer Journal. You can now register daily volunteer journal entries, or can make one journal entry for multiple days of volunteerism with the same organization/school. If you journal 50 or more volunteer hours with the same organization/school, the system will notify you that you can request a $750 Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) grant for that organization/school.
