Come join us for a fun day of baking bread for a good cause. Every year the Jaycees get together around the Holidays to bake approximately 30 loaves of bread for the only food shelter in Taunton (Our Daily Bread), to supplement the cost of feeding many families in need for the week. This year we chose to help the group in the summer months because they get less outside assistance when it's warm.
Refreshments will be served, music will be playing and games will be held while we're mixing and stirring, baking and wrapping. This is a great social experience and I invite everyone to come share the fun. Bring friends!
Whether you can make it or not, please drop off any bread mixes you may like to donate for the cause at the Jack Conway Real Estate Office on Rte 140 in Taunton, or give it to a friend that you know is going. All donations welcome!

The (J)AYCEES (A)gainst (Y)outh (S)moking or JAYS program, has been an extraordinary successful national project launched by the United States Junior Chamber ("JAYCEES"). There is a modest requirement for a volunteer to read and be somewhat familiar with the basic elements of the project, which are contained in the JAYS program manual. It's very easy reading, quite informative and actually excites the volunteer in bringing a real serious message to school kids about the 'bad effects' of smoking.. to themselves and others!

It truly is a worthwhile experience to offer a short amount of time (Ex.. 1 hour weekly for a set period) of one's leisure availability, to make a kid or student feel so much better in confidence, guidance and overall personal esteem, which ultimately results in a better grounded and productive future citizen. All mentoring programs supply a short orientation component to allow the volunteer to be familiar with the entire experience of understanding & qualifying as a guiding friend to a younger person.
